Senior Kotlin/JVM Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Kotlin/JVM Engineer at Lendable, you will help expand a next-generation lending platform and related fintech products. You will work in a small, high-performing tech team to design elegant solutions that scale with growth, leveraging new data sources, ML, and AI. You’ll collaborate across stakeholders to deliver robust, production-ready services and APIs, especially as we expand into the US market. This is a hands-on, impact-driven role at a fast-growing unicorn fintech.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clean, idiomatic Kotlin/Java code for scalable services
• Design and evolve APIs and backend architecture
• Collaborate in design forums with stakeholders from across the business
• Contribute to automated testing across the testing pyramid
• Support scaling and integration of new products and services (including US expansion)
• Work with AWS, containers, and CI/CD to deploy features to production

Key requirements

• Strong commercial Kotlin or JVM engineering experience
• Ability to write simple, clean code
• Experience with relational databases; NoSQL a plus
• Ability to understand complex financial domains
• Rapidly grasp software architectures and abstractions
• Experience with automated testing across levels
• Familiarity with Kanban agile methodology (not mandatory)
