Risk Consultant/Account Engineer (Property)

Overview

In this role you act as a trusted risk consultant for key accounts within Zurich Resilience Solutions. You build long‑term relationships, coordinate risk engineering programmes, and translate technical insights into practical actions that improve resilience and protect assets. You’ll balance technical excellence with commercial insight to drive value, support growth, and show measurable impact across clients, brokers, and underwriters. The position blends on-site and remote work with UK and occasional international travel, offering flexible arrangements to fit your life.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts and develop embedded relationships
• Coordinate complex risk engineering programmes and oversee service plans
• Conduct on-site and desktop risk assessments and deliver actionable risk insight
• Drive risk improvement actions and monitor programme delivery across Zurich’s network
• Provide benchmarking, reporting, and service reviews to demonstrate value
• Identify opportunities to expand the proposition and contribute to revenue growth
• Support budget management and operational efficiencies across projects
• Collaborate with customers, brokers, underwriters and internal stakeholders to enable decision making

Key requirements

• Commercially minded risk engineering professional with proven account management experience
• Expertise in property loss prevention (fire protection, business interruption, natural hazards)
• Strong knowledge of BS EN 12845, NFPA codes and FM Data Sheets
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to translate technical insight into practical customer solutions
• Consultative approach with strong commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities
• Comfort discussing with senior client contacts and internal stakeholders
