HSE Advisor – South

Overview

In this role you will lead and coach site teams on Health, Safety and Environmental improvements to ensure compliant, effective HSE practices. You will influence management decisions, implement policies, and drive continuous improvement across sites and regions. You’ll monitor performance, conduct audits, and share best practices to reduce risk and protect people and the environment. This is a purpose-led role at a global company with a strong focus on sustainable, healthy environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach and support site staff in Health, Safety and Environmental improvements
• Ensure consistent implementation of HSE policies across the company
• Monitor, evaluate and review HSE policies, practices and legal compliance; recommend and implement new policies
• Advise Senior Management on current and emerging HSE legislation and plan implementation
• Support managers with safe systems and practical advisory; provide coaching
• Conduct audits and assess effectiveness of HSE systems; implement improvements
• Manage and maintain accurate reporting of leading and lagging HSE performance indicators; provide dashboards
• Identify and present HSE improvement opportunities at Site, Territory and Business Unit levels
• Share best practices with HSE team members across the organisation
• Investigate incidents and assist with root cause analysis; support recurrence prevention and notifications to HSE Executive

Key requirements

• Proven history delivering HSE management systems and providing expert advice
• Willingness to travel across the region
• Excellent written and people skills; ability to challenge constructively
• Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload; independent initiative
• Knowledge of current HSE legislation and its application in manufacturing
• Relevant professional qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH)
• Desirable: Continuous Improvement knowledge and training (green belt)
• Desirable: Member of IOSH or equivalent professional body
