Overview

As Data Center Energy Lead, you will secure power capacity and accelerate energy delivery for Anthropic’s EU AI compute footprint. You will work across EU jurisdictions with TSOs, DSOs, regulators, and engineering teams to secure multi-hundred megawatt capacity and streamline energization. You’ll translate energy market dynamics into practical deployment plans, balancing speed, risk, and regulatory alignment. Responsibilities

• Lead multi-j hundred MW energy procurement efforts across EU wholesale markets and capacity mechanisms
• Manage utility and regulatory stakeholder relationships with TSOs, DSOs, regulators, and ACER to accelerate connections
• Monitor EU energy market developments and regulatory codes to inform capacity and deployment timelines
• Translate energy market dynamics into actionable procurement schedules aligned with aggressive project timelines
• Structure commercial frameworks (PPAs, network use of system, behind-the-meter) to accelerate power delivery
• Develop regional market intelligence on power availability, transmission constraints, and connection queues to guide site selection
• Collaborate with engineering/delivery teams to align energy strategies with construction and deployment plans

Key requirements

• 15+ years of experience in energy procurement, utility development, or power markets for large-scale infrastructure in Europe
• Deep expertise in EU electricity markets (day-ahead, intraday, balancing) and national capacity mechanisms
• Experience securing 100+ MW power capacity and navigating PPAs or similar off-take agreements in Europe
• Strong understanding of energy regulatory frameworks (EU network codes, national grid codes) and grid constraints
• Excellent stakeholder management with TSOs, DSOs, regulators (e.g., BNetzA, CRU, ACM, CRE, ACER)
• Clear ability to translate complex grid/regulatory topics into actionable business strategy
