Principal/Senior HV Cable Design Engineer – Energy

Overview

In this role you will contribute to the design of HV transmission and distribution systems within Stantec’s Energy Team, supporting major renewables, HVDC interconnectors and FEED projects. You collaborate with multiple disciplines to deliver innovative, sustainable substation and cable systems for UK clients, helping advance the energy transition. You’ll apply practical cable design knowledge and coordinate across projects to resolve design issues and optimize installations. This is a growth-focused opportunity in a collaborative, client-facing environment with exposure to diverse UK energy schemes.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver HV transmission and distribution system concepts, FEED and detailed designs for utilities and renewables

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
• Chartered Engineer registration preferred
• Experience as civil substation engineer with HV civil project awareness
• Knowledge of international standards for utility design
