Engineering Director (ID&F) – Java, .NET, AWS

Overview

In this role you lead the Fraud & Identity Engineering organization within Experian Software Solutions, guiding strategy, architecture, and delivery at scale for 500+ B2B clients. You will shape engineering practices, modernisation efforts, and cross-functional collaboration with product, operations, and business stakeholders. Your focus is on AI-native delivery, governance, and global execution across geographies. This opportunity lets you influence both technology direction and people development in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead diverse, high-performing teams across geographies with clear priorities and accountability
• Translate strategic goals into executable delivery plans and operating rhythms
• Embed AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making into engineering practices
• Lead technology modernization and adoption of new platforms and tools
• Provide solution-oriented guidance for complex business and tech challenges
• Partner with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to align priorities and remove blockers
• Operate effectively in a global matrix, coordinating across time zones and cultures
• Ensure governance, security, compliance, and risk standards in decisions and execution
• Own workforce planning, talent strategy, and succession planning
• Set budgets, manage vendor relationships, and availability of delivery capacity
• Represent engineering in senior forums, highlighting risks, dependencies, and progress
• Coach and develop people managers to strengthen leadership capability

Key requirements

• Strong people leadership experience coaching global engineering teams
• Proficient in Java full stack, .NET, AWS, EKS, Devops, Claude, Cursor based engineering and deployment practices
• Proven ability to build relationships with global teams and influence decisions using data-driven approaches
• Culture of innovation and continuous improvement with willingness to challenge status quo
• Experience using AI tools and driving adoption across teams
