Lead Software Engineer – Go / Python

Overview

Lead Software Engineer within Core Foundational Platforms, driving secure, scalable, and trusted technology solutions. You will be a core technical contributor shaping architecture across functions, partnering with cross-functional teams to enhance delivery speed, reliability, and code quality. You’ll lead AI-enabled engineering initiatives, set SDLC governance, and promote secure, auditable practices. This role blends hands-on development with strategic direction to impact critical banking platforms at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative software solutions and troubleshoot complex problems
• Develop secure production-grade code and review others’ work
• Improve operational stability by automating recurring issues
• Define strategy and standards for agentic AI-enabled engineering and enterprise tools
• Utilize SDLC automation and governance to speed delivery and ensure security and resiliency
• Lead architecture evaluation sessions with external and internal stakeholders
• Champion communities of practice to disseminate new technologies
• Foster an inclusive team culture and diversity in engineering

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering plus 5+ years of hands-on experience
• Proficient in at least one programming language (Go, Python, React, Java)
• Experience with automation/CI-CD tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies
• Experience with cloud-based systems and AI/ML-related technical processes
• Knowledge of financial services IT environment and security considerations
• Experience designing and scaling AI-enabled development patterns with governance and auditability
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Ability to lead cross-team collaboration and vendor engagements
