Senior UX/UI Designer – Embedded Devices (HMI)

Overview

As Senior Product UI/UX Designer in the Device UX Design team, you will shape intuitive interfaces for compact smart devices, blending digital and physical UI. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional partners to translate insights into polished designs and robust implementations. This role sits at the intersection of research, design, and engineering, driving user‑centered experiences across BAT’s devices. Responsibilities

• Lead the design of digital and physical UI components to meet user and product requirements
• Create wireframes, visual designs, prototypes, animations, and mock‑ups to convey interaction intent
• Support and interpret user research, usability studies, and insights to iterate the design
• Partner with developers to ensure UI concepts translate into robust, high‑quality implementations
• Maintain alignment with key stakeholders through clear communication, documentation, and updates
• Collaborate across industrial design, brand, research, and engineering through the 4D product development process

Key requirements

• 8+ years of UI/UX design experience, preferably in consumer electronics or small digital devices
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Experience collaborating with UX/UI designers, developers, product managers, and cross‑functional partners
• Strong portfolio of visually appealing, user‑friendly interfaces and clear interaction design thinking
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe After Effects & Illustrator, and prototyping tools such as Protopie (or equivalents)
• Ability to build strong partnerships across teams and influence decision‑making
• Solid project management skills with experience juggling multiple workstreams
