Technical Manager – Food / Safety

Overview

In this role you will lead the technical function at a well-established food manufacturer, guiding a team and aligning with the company’s quality and safety goals. You’ll drive technical strategy, oversee product launches from concept to market, and monitor KPIs to support continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to shape the site’s food safety culture and technical performance. Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the technical team, supporting succession planning
• Build strong relationships with service providers, suppliers and customers
• Produce and review KPI reports to track performance
• Technical management of the product launch process from concept to launch
• Oversee specifications and customer requirements
• Drive continuous improvement projects and enhance the food safety and quality culture across the site

Key requirements

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment in a similar role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• BSc qualification in a food-related field or equivalent industry experience
