Lead Software Engineering – Java -ETT – Options Algorithmic Trading

Overview

As a Lead Software Engineer in the Options Algorithmic Trading team, you will design and optimize algorithmic trading engines for options and translate strategies into scalable, reliable software. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve execution, performance, and system robustness in a market-ready environment. The role blends hands-on coding with guiding best practices and AI-assisted engineering to drive secure, high-quality solutions. Responsibilities

• Develop and troubleshoot secure, production-grade Java code to solve complex problems
• Design algorithmic trading strategies and translate them into scalable algorithms
• Refactor and optimize code for performance, testing, and reliability
• Collaborate with product teams to align strategies with engineering delivery
• Promote an inclusive team culture and adopt enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices
• Utilize SDLC tools and AI-assisted automation to enhance code quality and delivery
• Build systems for order management, trade execution, market data processing, and risk management
• Ensure operational stability and reliability of trading systems

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering; advanced proficiency in Java
• Hands-on system design, development, testing, and operational stability
• Expertise in at least one programming language; strong automation and CD capabilities
• Experience with algorithmic trading systems and familiarity with FIX
• Proven ability to lead AI-assisted development tools usage with validation standards
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and multithreading in Java
• Familiarity with financial markets, especially equities and options
