Overview
In this role you support a residential developer across London by delivering cost-focused commercial management on new build projects. You will work within the commercial team to drive value, risk management, and procurement decisions from inception to completion. You’ll liaise with clients, architects, and subcontractors, ensuring accurate costings, progress reporting, and timely payments. Responsibilities
- Prepare tender and contract documents with quantity take-offs
- Final Accounts and cost analysis
- Feasibility studies and defining client requirements
- Perform risk, value management and cost control
- Advise on procurement strategy
- Assess commercial risks and develop responses
- Prepare/analyse costings for tenders
- Allocate work to subcontractors
- Provide advice on contractual claims
- Analyse outcomes and write progress reports
- Value completed work and arrange payments
- Maintain awareness of building contracts in use
- Consider health and safety implications
Key requirements
- 4+ years’ experience with a UK residential developer on permanent basis
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
- CSCS Card desirable
- RICS/CIOB membership desirable but not essential
- Full clean driving licence
- Computer literate
- Able to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated
- Experience working on multiple projects with minimal supervision
