Consultant Psychiatrist – Bolton South CMHT

Overview

In this Consultant role, you will provide specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment and care within Bolton’s Community Mental Health Teams. You will operate in a sectorised service, collaborating with other General Adult Psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to serve adults with severe mental health conditions. You will contribute to population-based planning and care in Bolton, supported by a base at Barnett House with administrative support. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to shape community mental health care delivery within the NHS Trust’s wider mission.

Pay / Benefits

• 30% additional pay for evenings and Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Provide expert psychiatric assessment and treatment within the Bolton CMHT
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and GP practices within a sectorised service
• Work within the Bolton catchment to ensure equitable access and care for adults with complex mental health needs
• Be based at Barnett House with office, IT support and secretarial backing
• Contribute to service planning and delivery in a large NHS foundation trust

Key requirements

• GMC Specialist Register (essential)
• Medical Degree (essential)
• MRCPsych or equivalent (desirable)
• Current UK professional registration (required)
• Disclosure and Barring Service check (required)
• UK skilled worker sponsorship considerations (desirable)
