Overview
In this role you lead and evolve SP Energy Networks’ Business Separation compliance framework to protect the integrity of the regulated business. You will influence senior leaders, work with regulators, and shape controls that enable a fair, transparent operating environment as the company transitions to Net Zero. You translate regulatory obligations into practical processes, provide assurance on key controls, and oversee external assurance partnerships. This is a pivotal governance, compliance and assurance role with meaningful cross‑functional impact.

Responsibilities
- Act as the organisation’s Business Separation SME and advise senior leaders across SP Energy Networks
- Develop and continuously improve the compliance framework, translating obligations into controls and evidence
- Oversee annual Ofgem submissions and maintain the Statement of Compliance
- Provide assurance on control effectiveness, identify risks and drive remediation
- Produce insightful reporting for decision-making and maintain external stakeholder contacts for assurance
- Be the primary point of contact for Business Separation with external assurance partners and regulators
Key requirements
- Experience in compliance, risk or assurance within a regulated or complex environment
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into effective controls and assurance activities
- Strong communication and influencing skills to engage senior stakeholders
- Experience with regulatory reporting, governance processes, audit or assurance activities (beneficial)
- Knowledge of energy sector, utilities regulation, or working with regulators (advantageous)
- Professional qualification in risk, compliance, audit, governance or related discipline (advantageous)
