Criminal Defence Solicitor – Salisbury or Melksham

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on criminal matters, funding options, and case strategy
• Represent clients at police stations, courts, and detention centres (day and night)
• Prepare legal documents, statements, and correspondence
• Liaise with counsel, experts, and third parties
• Review evidence, negotiate outcomes, and manage hearings
• Ensure compliance with LAA, SRA, and internal standards
• Supervise junior staff (if applicable)

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or ILEX Accredited
• Duty Solicitor status (or willingness to qualify)
• Experience managing criminal defence cases
• Strong advocacy, client care, and organisational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
• Full UK driving licence
