Managing Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will drive commercial delivery for major infrastructure projects, partnering with the Anglian Water programme and the @one Alliance to ensure on-time, safe and sustainable delivery. You will shape commercial strategies, manage subcontracts, and provide precise forecasting to support project performance within governance. The position sits in Skanska’s Infrastructure function, contributing to environmental protection and high-impact civil works. You will lead high-performing teams and collaborate with Senior Buyers to maximise value and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Produce robust, accurate estimates aligned to scope with risk/opportunity consideration
• Lead and support commercial and procurement strategies with Senior Buyers, ensuring efficient tender processes
• Prepare clear, accurate subcontracts reflecting agreed scope and commercial requirements
• Manage subcontracts in line with contract obligations (payments, compensation events, programme submissions, communications)
• Deliver accurate live forecasting aligned to the project programme and report against WBS/CBS structures

Key requirements

• Degree or HNC qualified, or equivalent professional experience
• Professionally qualified, or working towards accreditation, with RICS, CIOB, or CICES
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
• Strong contract administration expertise, with solid working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
• Experienced in managing change effectively, with ability to protect commercial outcomes and drive project performance
