Quality Assurance Manager

Overview

In this role you will oversee QA across structural steel, architectural metalwork and feature stair projects from fabrication through installation in Greater London. You will lead QA procedures, oversee snagging, and ensure smooth handover of projects from workshop to site. You’ll coordinate with clients, designers and internal teams to secure sign-offs and drive snag-free completion. This is a hands-on, site-aware QA leadership role that shapes quality across fabrication, assembly and installation, ensuring interfaces with other trades meet spec and tolerance goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain QA procedures within the fabrication facility, inspecting structural steel and metalwork at key stages (cutting, welding, assembly, finishing)
• Manage sample production and approval process, coordinating with clients, designers, and internal teams for sign-off
• Attend site at key installation stages to inspect structural steel, architectural metalwork, feature stairs, finishes, and interfaces with other trades
• Lead snagging process from identification to close-out, producing structured snag lists and coordinating with site and factory teams to resolve defects
• Carry out final inspections prior to handover, driving snag-free project completion

Key requirements

• Strong experience in structural steel and/or architectural metalwork
• Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, and installation methods
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Understanding of tolerances, QA procedures, and inspection processes
