Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Thunder

Overview

In this role you contribute to Maneuver Dominance by building autonomous, multi-asset capabilities across Anduril platforms and third-party systems. You’ll own features from concept to deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable mission software. You will work closely with hardware and operators to align requirements, and you’ll mentor peers while pushing robust, high-quality code. The work centers on real-world impact, rapid iteration, and pragmatic engineering to advance autonomous defenses.

Responsibilities

• Own feature development and cross-cutting technical efforts from concept to deployment
• Write code to improve products and scale mission capability to more customers
• Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
• Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring
• Triage issues, root cause analysis, and coordinate next steps
• Coordinate with hardware teams and operators during product development
• Write and maintain core libraries and services for robotic coordination (e.g., motion deconfliction, contingency management)
• Mentor engineers and contribute to code reviews and design leadership
• Travel up to 20% for field testing and deployment

Key requirements

• Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
• 5+ years of professional experience with C++ or Rust
• Experience building software with substantial data processing and analysis
• Proven track record leading technical projects and delivering production software
• Ability to understand and navigate complex systems and large code bases
• Desire to work on critical software with real-world impact
• Bias for action, extreme ownership, and end-to-end project delivery
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active UKSV Security Clearance
