Overview

In this role you will contribute to strengthening regulatory compliance across the business by developing and monitoring UK regulatory frameworks. You will liaise with authorities and support risk management enhancements, while delivering targeted training. The position sits at the intersection of UK finance regulation and Japanese business, offering impact through robust compliance programs and cross-border engagement. This is a hands-on, office-based role with a clear path to regulatory qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance internal compliance frameworks and monitoring systems in line with UK financial regulations (e.g., FCA)
• Liaise, negotiate, and report to regulatory authorities on compliance matters
• Plan and deliver internal training programs and support enhancement of the firm’s risk management framework

Key requirements

• Knowledge of UK financial regulations (e.g., FCA rules) is preferred
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English
• Prior experience in compliance roles at a Japanese financial institution
• Willingness to obtain the CISI UK Financial Regulation qualification
• Experience dealing with Japanese financial regulators is an asset
• CISI UK Financial Regulation certification and FCA-approved Compliance Officers are highly welcomed
