Mechanical Shift Engineer

Overview

As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance on essential mechanical systems to keep a high-end site running smoothly. You will work within a shift pattern, collaborating with contractors and site teams to protect service quality and client satisfaction. The role offers progression paths within the business and a clear opportunity to develop expert fault-finding and maintenance skills on HVAC and related plant. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position at a premier facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct PPM and reactive maintenance on AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and associated components
• Perform water treatment checks and related tasks (tap tests, dosing, cooling tower checks)
• Maintain cooling towers, chilled water systems, plumbing, generators, and pressurisation units
• Troubleshoot faults and diagnose issues across mechanical plant systems
• Liaise with contractors to ensure work is completed to standard
• Update site logbooks and maintain accurate records
• Support client satisfaction through high-quality service

Key requirements

• Mechanically qualified to City & Guilds Level 2/3 or NVQ (or equivalent)
• Building Services maintenance experience
