Overview
In this role you will lead the IAM function for MUFG, delivering secure, scalable identity services across a large enterprise. You will guide end-to-end IAM operations, collaborate with Security, HR, Risk and Infra teams, and manage vendor relationships to ensure robust access controls. You will drive automation, self-service, and continuous improvement while maintaining audit readiness and reporting to executives. This is a senior, impact-focused position shaping IAM strategy and platform health in a global bank.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end IAM operations to deliver reliable identity services for workforce and non-human identities
- Lead IAM service delivery, automation, and self-service initiatives
- Manage day-to-day IAM operations including joiner/mowler/leaver processes and access fulfillment workflows
- Oversee ITSM-aligned operations (incident, problem, change, request, knowledge) with on-call readiness
- Coordinate operational stability for IAM platforms (SSO/MFA, directories, IGA, HR source-of-truth, APIs)
- Lead audit and compliance activities for access controls and evidence collection
- Establish an automation-first operating model to reduce manual tasks and tickets
- Expand end-user self-service and automated approvals to reduce Service Desk load
- Conduct continuous improvement: analyze ticket drivers, standardize processes, automate recurring issues
- Own IAM operational risk, monitoring, and integration with SecOps (SIEM, logging)
- Foster partnerships across Security, Infrastructure, HR, app owners, and enterprise service management teams
- Coach and mentor the IAM team and communicate complex topics to senior stakeholders
- Manage onshore and offshore personnel, building capability and future platform opportunities
Key requirements
- 11+ years in IAM, security operations, or identity platform operations
- 5+ years in team leadership and service delivery
- Enterprise-scale IAM experience across multi-region environments
- Strong ITSM and operational management experience (incident, problem, change, request)
- Proven ability to manage third-party SI partners or managed services
- Track record of automation and self-service to cut manual effort
- Audits and compliance experience (SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI)
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication
- High ownership, bias for action, and structured problem solving
- Experience with privileged access controls and complex directory environments
- CISSP, CISM or equivalent qualifications desirable
- Familiarity with Zero Trust and AI-assisted IT/security operations (governance)
