Area Manager – Mental Health

Overview

In this fixed-term post you lead strategic and operational delivery of adult care services within the Mental Health team. You will drive high-quality, person-centred practice across multiple settings and collaborate with partners to shape integrated services. The role combines performance oversight, budget management, and transformation work to improve outcomes for adults in Lincolnshire. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to influence service design and scale impact, while benefiting from strong professional development. This is a pivotal leadership role with a clear mission to enhance mental health services across the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage adult care services
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties, policies, and best practice standards
• Inspire and support diverse teams including Principal Practitioners and Team Managers
• Collaborate with health, housing, and voluntary sector partners to deliver integrated services
• Monitor performance, manage budgets, and contribute to strategic planning and transformation initiatives

Key requirements

• Qualified professional in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing with current HCPC/NMC registration
• Proven leadership experience in social care or health settings
• Strong understanding of legislation, commissioning, and integrated working
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and change management skills
• Commitment to innovation, inclusion, and delivering outstanding outcomes for adults in Lincolnshire
