Health & Safety Manager

Overview

In this Health & Safety leadership role, you will support the Sector/Region with HS&W expertise, drive a proactive safety culture, and help embed best practices across projects. You’ll mentor junior team members, promote wellbeing and psychological safety, and influence stakeholders to improve performance. You will work on site safety across London and surrounding areas and contribute to regional strategies and industry collaboration. Responsibilities

• Provide expert HS&W guidance across the Sector/Region to influence outcomes
• Partner with operations and leadership to drive proactive safety culture
• Support divisional/region HS&W strategy delivery and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with company, client, and legislative HS&W requirements
• Monitor workforce competence and support HS&W training and development
• Coach and mentor junior HS&W team members
• Promote wellbeing, inclusion and psychological safety
• Conduct site visits, audits, and assurance activities with improvement follow-up
• Analyze HS&W performance data and drive improvement initiatives
• Lead and support incident investigations with root cause analysis
• Review supply chain HS&W performance and drive high standards
• Engage clients, supply chain partners and industry stakeholders for collaboration
• Support emergency preparedness and resilience planning
• Contribute to HS&W reporting and leadership communications
• Share learning and embed continuous improvement across the business

Key requirements

• GradIOSH or TechIOSH
• NEBOSH NVQ Diploma or Level 6
• Experience in H&S within the Construction industry
• Experience in Commercial, Education and healthcare sectors (desirable)
• Strong people leadership and collaborative skills
• Experience delivering technical HS&W support on complex Construction or Civil Engineering projects
• Proven ability to deliver tangible HS&W improvements
• Excellent influencing and communication skills
• Solid root cause analysis expertise
• Awareness of behavioural science and human factors
• Commitment to personal learning and development
