Overview

As Grinding & Packing Plant Manager, you will oversee safe, efficient operation of grinding, storage, packing and dispatch for cement at Tunstead. You will lead a cross-functional team to meet customer demand while upholding safety, quality and performance standards. You’ll drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the plant, collaborating with maintenance, quality, logistics and commercial teams. Responsibilities

• Champion safety-first culture and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Lead and develop a high-performing operational team with coaching and succession planning
• Manage daily grinding, packing and dispatch to meet customer requirements
• Drive operational performance, efficiency, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate with maintenance to plan maintenance activities and annual shutdowns
• Manage plant budgets, cost control and expenditure tracking
• Ensure raw materials and packaging supplies are available for uninterrupted operations
• Collaborate with quality, logistics, supply chain and commercial teams to optimise performance
• Support site improvement projects and new product introductions
• Build strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders, suppliers and contractors

Key requirements

• Strong knowledge of cement manufacturing processes
• Significant experience in a cement manufacturing environment
• Proven track record of leading operational teams in heavy industry or manufacturing
• Experience managing contractors, projects and cross-functional activities
• Demonstrated ability to deliver operational and business performance targets

• Strong leadership and people management capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making
• IT proficiency including SAP and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Budget management experience
