Overview
In this role, you lead on-site execution for complex BW Packaging projects, acting as the primary on-site extension of the Project Manager during installation, commissioning, and acceptance. You coordinate field teams, contractors, and OEM partners to deliver safe, on-schedule, and within-scope outcomes. You engage customers directly to maintain trust and clarity throughout installation and handover, and you escalation-protect project margins and commitments. This position offers hands-on leadership in a global packaging business focused on durable, high-value solutions and customer success.
Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site service, installation, and commissioning activities during project execution
- Direct and coordinate BW service technicians, installation supervision, contractors, and OEM partners on site
- Maintain daily on-site priorities, sequencing, and issue resolution
- Conduct daily on-site coordination meetings with BW, contractor, and OEM teams
- Ensure on-site execution aligns with safety, scope commitments, and installation standards
- Participate in SAT execution with clear acceptance criteria and contractual commitments
- Serve as the on-site execution lead in support of the Project Manager
- Provide daily status updates with risks, decisions, and recommended actions
- Support final acceptance activities in coordination with Project Manager and customer
- Identify execution risks and scope exposure early and escalate through project channels
- Serve as primary on-site liaison between customer and BW execution teams
- Maintain professional communication with customer stakeholders throughout installation and commissioning
- Attend and lead on-site customer meetings and maintain confidence through transparency
- Identify scope changes and execution impacts; communicate implications to Project Manager and customer
- Coordinate warranty communication and action tracking with Project Manager and Operations teams
- Coordinate BW and OEM resource and staffing changes with Field Service leadership
- Support weekly review of service POs, warranty status, and financial visibility using D365 and related systems
- Enable cross-functional alignment and effective handoffs across internal and external teams during installation
Key requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading on-site execution for complex manufacturing or capital equipment projects
- Technical understanding in mechanical, electrical, or controls systems as applied in field service and installation environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers and internal teams
- Strong customer focus balancing responsiveness with disciplined execution and contractual alignment
- Proven ability to anticipate risks, scope exposure, and cost or schedule erosion and take timely action
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional and third-party teams without direct authority
- Strong working knowledge of ERP and project tracking systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Packaging industry experience preferred
- Extensive customer-facing field experience strongly valued
- Willingness to adjust work hours, travel schedules, and onsite presence as needed
- Flexibility to take on evolving responsibilities and travel 50–70%
