Overview
In this role you help NZ exporters grow in the UK by providing strategic advice, market-entry guidance, and go-to-market planning across UK channels. You will collaborate with leadership teams and internal stakeholders to execute market expansion and channel development, while leveraging your network and industry knowledge to reduce barriers for New Zealand goods. The role combines strategic advisory with hands-on project delivery in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will contribute to a priority linked to the NZ–UK Free Trade Agreement and help shape outcomes for diverse exporters.

Responsibilities
- Provide business planning and strategic guidance to a portfolio of exporters in the Food & Beverage and Consumer Goods sectors
- Develop and execute go-to-market plans across UK retail, wholesale, food service and on-premise channels
- Coach leadership teams to identify product niches and market approaches
- Evaluate exporters’ strengths/weaknesses and advise on market entry and growth strategies
- Strategise and implement new channels to market and growth initiatives across sectors
- Deliver high-impact in-market projects and insights to reduce barriers to entry
- Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to drive customer growth
- Capture interactions in the CRM system and monitor market trends
- Support delivery of a strategic Food & Beverage priority linked to the NZ–UK Free Trade Agreement
- Engage with virtual teams to drive cross-sector collaboration
Key requirements
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with large and complex trading organisations and high-growth exporters
- Solid understanding of market entry and route-to-market strategies across UK retail, wholesale, food service and on-premise channels
- Sector knowledge in Food & Beverage and ideally Consumer Goods, with awareness of relevant regulatory context
- Business acumen with experience alongside CEOs and a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- Superior communication, consulting and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of the UK commercial landscape and ability to operate in the UK market
- Proactive, can-do mindset with creative problem-solving and collaboration in virtual teams
