Consumer Regulatory Senior Associate

Overview

In this role you will join a leading international law firm’s Consumer Regulatory team to advise on consumer protection, product compliance and regulatory risk. You will support cross-border matters, supervise junior lawyers, and contribute to business development and client relationships. Responsibilities

• Advise on consumer protection, product regulatory matters, including compliance, safety, labeling, and advertising
• Assist with regulatory strategy and incident response
• Support product withdrawals and recalls processes
• Engage with enforcement bodies (e.g., CMA, Trading Standards) on cross-border matters
• Contribute to sustainability and green claims advisory
• Develop client relationships and participate in business development
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers to foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment

Key requirements

• Qualified lawyer (England & Wales)
• 4+ PQE in consumer regulatory, commercial or regulatory practice
• Strong experience in consumer protection, product compliance or regulatory risk management
• Practical knowledge of consumer-facing regulatory frameworks and regulator engagement
• Experience advising clients in retail, FMCG, food, hospitality or manufacturing
• Excellent drafting and advisory skills with commercial judgement
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills; confident in client and stakeholder interactions
• Mentoring experience desirable
