Senior Planner (Award winning Main Contractor) | Permanent | West London

Overview

In this role you will lead the planning function across pre-qualification, pre-construction and construction stages for a UK main contractor. You will develop and present plan methodologies, tender and contract programmes, and monitor progress to support realistic planning strategies. The role involves coordinating with clients, tender teams and site teams, and driving continuous improvement in planning approaches. You will work on large mixed-use, commercial and residential schemes, delivering value through robust scheduling and risk-aware programmes.

Responsibilities

• Create outline plans and methodologies for pre-qualification and present them to clients
• Develop detailed tender programmes and method statements for submissions
• Deliver contract planning services including target programmes, procurement schedules, progress monitoring, reporting, and reprogramming
• Represent the planning function in pre-qualification, tender and contract interviews and meetings
• Research and propose new building techniques with potential benefits to the planning strategy
• Visit sites to validate conditions affecting tender programmes and method statements
• Prepare scaffold and crane schedules for quotations
• Provide information release schedules to the contract team
• Compile comparative programmes to support claims or disputes

Key requirements

• Experience on large mixed-use, commercial and residential schemes
• Ability to develop economical and realistic programming solutions and communicate them effectively
• Proficiency in Asta Power Project, Microsoft Project, and MS Office
• Up-to-date knowledge of Local Authority Regulations
