Overview

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive US tax advisory and compliance services for private equity and real estate funds, many with US investors, from London. You’ll work within Deloitte’s Asset Management team to handle large transactions, restructurings, and complex US tax issues in an international context. Collaborating with partners and cross‑functional teams, you’ll help deepen client relationships and pursue new business opportunities. The role combines technical tax work with leadership and people development in a growth‑oriented, inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with partner/manager/associate teams on large private equity/real estate fund transactions, restructurings, and US tax compliance for global funds
  • Lead and manage advisory projects and research US tax issues impacting funds in an international setting
  • Oversee day-to-day project activities, including assessing economic and risk aspects of engagements
  • Support client relationship development, host meetings/calls, and contribute to winning new work
  • Coordinate with colleagues in related firm teams (real estate transactions and private markets)
  • Contribute to market development and business opportunities, including leading new ideas
  • Mentor and develop Analysts and Consultants with hands-on guidance
  • Help shape team culture and foster an inclusive, engaging work environment
  • Consider broader issues when managing diverse teams and uphold the firm’s independence and regulatory commitments

Key requirements

  • CPA License / Licensed Attorney / Enrolled Agent (limited circumstances) or equivalent
  • History of client-facing experience or equivalent
  • Desirable: Undergraduate or Masters in Taxation/Accounting, law degree or equivalent
  • Experience in Asset Management Services—Private Equity, Real Estate, and/or Credit/Hedge Funds
  • Knowledge of asset management industry issues, including K-1 and PFIC reporting
  • Strong willingness to learn and rapidly acquire new concepts
