Mobile Electrical Engineer (South London)

Overview

In this Mobile Electrical Engineer role, you will service the MET Police estate across South London, delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance to ensure safety and operational readiness. You’ll work on-site with a public sector client, build strong client relationships, and handle on-call duties to support 24/7 operations. The role combines hands-on maintenance with documentation and compliance activities, offering development through on-going training within a high-profile contract.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, inspections, and fault finding
• Carry out electrical installations, upgrades, and minor works in line with safety standards
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation and service records
• Communicate updates and resolve client queries on-site
• Participate in a 1 in 6, 24/7 on-call rota

Key requirements

• Level 2 & 3 City & Guilds 2330 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Willingness to obtain MET Police CTC Clearance (up to 7–10 months)
• Experience in facilities management or mobile maintenance environments
• Previous experience on a regional on-call rota
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and a proactive, client-focused approach
