Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

As a Civil Engineer, you will design below-ground foul and surface water drainage for multiple projects, contributing to sustainable solutions with cross-functional teams. You’ll model drainage systems, produce drawings and specifications, and ensure compliance with evolving codes. The role involves client liaison, site visits, and collaboration with external design teams to meet project requirements. Responsibilities

• Plan and model below-ground foul and surface water drainage systems
• Produce layout and detail drawings and specifications for drainage
• Attend project meetings and visit sites to understand project context
• Liaise with internal teams and external design partners
• Use Info Drainage and other modelling tools for drainage design
• Assess environmental impact and ensure compliance with legislation
• Respond to technical queries from internal and external parties
• Undertake drainage strategy reports to satisfy planning conditions
• Coordinate with Thames Water and City of London on pre-development and Section 106 agreements
• Manage multiple projects to meet internal programme requirements
• Design for single-building and multi-building sites

Key requirements

• Experience in designing below-ground drainage systems
• Proficient in computer modelling and drainage design tools (Info Drainage)
• Ability to work with clients and cross-functional teams
• Site visits and construction supervision experience
• Knowledge of planning conditions and Section 106 processes
• Reading and producing drainage layout and detail drawings
