Overview

In this Technical Manager role, you oversee housing projects across the Glasgow and Edinburgh region for a leading main contractor. You’ll steer 4–5 projects from planning through design, procurement, construction and sales, ensuring on-time delivery and high standards. You collaborate with consultants and manage the design team to navigate regulatory approvals. This position offers strong career progression within a top-tier contractor and a generous package. Responsibilities

• Set and track the design team programme to ensure on-time delivery
• Oversee architectural design elements and ensure standards are met by direct reports
• Own the regulatory approval and design process from land handover to build completion
• Resolve day-to-day design issues with the Technical team
• Build and maintain relationships with consultants for smooth project delivery
• Manage 4–5 projects concurrently through planning, design, procurement, construction and sales
• Lead and mentor project staff to meet agreed standards
• Ensure high levels of accuracy and detail across all project documentation
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to align on milestones

Key requirements

• Degree in Architectural Technology or similar (essential)
• Housing experience with a Housebuilder or Contractor (essential)
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Previous experience in Engineering (essential)
• Proven management skills for people and projects
