Lead Software Engineer – Frontend Engineering – React Native

Overview

In this role you will help build the bank of the future for Chase UK by delivering cloud-native, front-end solutions within a fast-moving, startup-like environment. You will contribute to design and architecture while owning the full SDLC lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship cutting-edge features. You’ll write clean, testable code, perform thorough testing, and mentor junior engineers to elevate code quality. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Create and maintain clean, efficient, and reusable codebase
• Conduct thorough testing to ensure robustness and reliability of applications
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring smooth application functionality
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide progress updates
• Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on best practices and code reviews
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in mobile development
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and workflows

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification on JavaScript concepts
• Proficient advanced experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, and ES6+ syntax
• Ability to write testable, clean JavaScript code
• Familiarity with writing unit tests
• Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment within a geographically distributed team
• Ability to focus on promptly addressing customer needs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
