Overview
In this role you will manage a complex commercial property caseload and provide technical legal advice to internal stakeholders. You will draft and negotiate a range of property documents while advising on transaction structure and property law. Your work supports the council’s strategic objectives and governance. This is a chance to shape Lancashire’s property portfolio within a collaborative public-sector team and contribute to long-term service delivery.

Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload covering all aspects of commercial property work
- Provide technical legal advice to internal clients and stakeholders
- Draft and negotiate complex property documents for various transactions
- Advise on transaction structure and commercial property law
- Apply legal knowledge to support strategic objectives while ensuring policy compliance
- Support cross-functional teams on property-related matters
- Assist in developing and maintaining governance and compliance procedures
- Engage with stakeholders to manage risks and outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement of legal services and processes
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, or equivalent with a current practising certificate
- Developed experience in commercial property law
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Excellent research and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
- Knowledge of local government and public law (desirable)
