Overview

As Engineering Manager in the Storage Engineering Team, you will lead a team building scalable, reliable cloud storage for Linode within Akamai’s Connected Cloud. You’ll partner with cross-functional peers to shape technical direction and delivery. You’ll drive design, testing strategy, and sprint planning to ensure high-quality, production-ready storage solutions. This role offers impact at scale, shaping how customers build their businesses with enterprise-grade storage. You will lead with vision, mentoring, and a bias toward practical, measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team through hiring, coaching and mentorship
• Provide technical leadership and direction for storage platform initiatives
• Participate in design reviews, product specs, projects, and backlog planning
• Plan team sprints and collaborate with Team Leads and management peers
• Improve internal processes and systems to enhance delivery and quality

Key requirements

• Experience managing high-performing engineering teams
• Extensive SDET background testing distributed micro-services with Python and Golang
• Experience building reliable functional and non-functional test suites in CI/CD/CT
• Knowledge of object storage and block storage in cloud environments
• Ability to design abstract software architectures from ideas to implementation
