Project Manager – Civil Engineering

Overview

In this role you will lead project delivery for highways works within the South West region, focusing on achieving business results through effective organisation, planning, and stakeholder engagement. You will drive HSQE compliance, procurement, and contract management while coordinating cross-functional teams to meet targets. Responsibilities

• Manage project business results and overall delivery
• Define project organisation, roles, and responsibilities
• Communicate requirements to the project team and stakeholders
• Set challenging targets and monitor progress
• Establish client and representative interfaces
• Coordinate information flow among all team members and third parties
• Implement project management systems and lead HSQE efforts
• Approve IMS plan and delegate duties
• Assess opportunities, risks, and planning needs
• Set procurement deadlines and review contract programmes
• Define works packages and oversee subcontractor/supplier awards
• Contract management and supervision of progress and changes
• Control project performance and change management processes
• Support recruitment and identify training needs
• Report to internal stakeholders on commercial and delivery status

Key requirements

• Degree/HND in Engineering
• Previous PM experience on highways projects
• Commercial, financial, project and programme management experience
• Excellent leadership and tendering skills
• Strong numeracy and IT skills (MS Office)
• Strong communication and team collaboration abilities
