Associate Director – Digital Engineering and BIM

Overview

In this role you will drive BIM governance and information management across projects, ensuring ISO19650 compliance and optimized resource use. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain standards, develop dashboards, and support bids while advancing the client’s digital handover and net-zero initiatives. You will stay abreast of BIM developments, manage interfaces with clients, and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive project delivery culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide support across the project lifecycle and ensure sufficient scope and resources
• Assign resources to projects and monitor load balancing via dashboards
• Assure information requirements (OIR, AIR, PIR and EIR) per ISO 19650 and uphold information standards
• Develop an object library strategy and the client’s digital handover strategy
• Maintain understanding of ISO19650 and applicable standards for clients; implement governance and assurance processes
• Improve client relationships to win new contracts and extend existing ones; liaise with the Programme Lead to align bids with client goals
• Monitor digital handover to completion; participate in BIM developments and industry events
• Raise job requisitions to recruit new BIM talent; research regulatory and governance compliance
• Review bid responses for client alignment and MACE Consult capabilities; oversee Autodesk Construction Cloud account management and BEP reviews
• Review current technology solutions and research new tools to improve BIM processes; stay updated on classifications
• Upskill client teams and internal staff via BIM knowledge sharing sessions
• Contribute to net zero carbon transition through proactive carbon emission management during delivery
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and classifications

Key requirements

• Level 7 qualifications (or equivalent)
• Integrated master’s degree or equivalent (e.g., MEng)
• Advanced understanding of ISO19650, BS1192, CDE, IFC, COBie, and classifications
