Senior Sales Engineer – Public Sector (UK)

Overview

In this role you drive the technical storytelling and validation that move complex opportunities toward close. You partner with sales to convey Datadog’s value, own the technical engagement during trials, and deliver compelling product briefings. You provide credible, technical input to product strategy based on customer feedback and competitive insights. You’ll work across teams in a hybrid environment to influence outcomes and enable customers at scale.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Sales team to articulate Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers
• Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase and address issues to resolution
• Technically close complex opportunities through deep competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility
• Deliver product and technical briefings/presentations to potential clients
• Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input (wins and losses)
• Proactively engage with customers and internal teams regarding product feedback and competitive landscape

Key requirements

• 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role
• Proficiency in programming/scripting with Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, or .NET
• Ability to travel up to 45% and sit for up to 4 hours at a time
• Strong written and oral communication skills; able to articulate business benefits and technical advantages
