Overview
As Domestic Lead Gas Engineer, you will perform general domestic gas works, service and repair boilers, and complete landlords’ certificates to ensure safe, compliant homes. You’ll operate as part of our in-house gas team within Homes and Neighbourhoods, visiting residents’ premises and coordinating with suppliers and trades to finish jobs efficiently. Your work supports safe heating, diagnostics, and timely documentation using SORs via PDA. You’ll contribute to public service goals in Islington, bringing technical expertise and professional responsibility to a diverse housing context. This role offers meaningful impact through maintaining and improving residential heating across the borough

Responsibilities
- Perform general gas works in domestic housing and flats
- Complete landlords’ certificates
- Diagnose faults and repair modern/traditional boilers
- Repair heating systems and document job progression
- Use SORs schedule of rates via PDA for timely documentation
- Hold a full clean driving licence and work in the field across Islington
- Enter residents’ premises for repairs/servicing/installation
- Liaise with suppliers, other trades, and Council departments to aid job completion
