Overview

As Flo’s Director, Head of Global PR & Communications, you will shape how the world understands Flo’s mission to improve women’s health through a trusted, privacy‑first digital platform. You’ll lead global external communications across corporate, product, and scientific domains, building influential narratives that position Flo as a category leader. You’ll advise senior leaders, manage media relations, and lead crisis and issues management to protect and grow trust at scale. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on storytelling to impact health and policy conversations, at a fast-growing, mission‑led company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global PR and external communications strategy aligned with brand, product, and company priorities
  • Develop differentiated corporate narratives for leadership in women’s health and digital health
  • Oversee corporate reputation, product launches, scientific communication, partnerships, executive visibility, and thought leadership
  • Build journalist and influencer relationships across health, tech, science, and consumer media
  • Translate clinical research and product innovation into accessible, credible storytelling
  • Advise executives and prepare spokespeople for media engagements
  • Serve as trusted adviser to CEO and senior leadership; manage crises and issues with proactive planning
  • Build and lead a high-performing global communications team; manage agencies and budgets; establish global processes

Key requirements

  • Significant progressive PR and corporate communications experience in a high-profile consumer-facing organization
  • Track record of global communications strategies that support growth
  • Experience in digital health, healthcare, or a regulated sector
  • Expertise in corporate reputation, consumer PR, executive communications, media relations, issues management, and crisis comms
  • Strong relationships with global media or ability to build them
  • Ability to translate technical or data-led subjects into compelling narratives
  • Sound judgement on sensitive issues and public scrutiny
  • Experience advising CEOs and senior executives; leadership of teams, agencies, budgets, and international programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; data-informed planning and evaluation
  • Ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on delivery in a fast-moving environment
  • Strategic judgment under pressure
