Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

Senior Civil Engineer role in Cardiff to lead design and delivery of civil engineering projects for building developments. You will coordinate design teams, manage QA and client relationships, and contribute to standards and innovations. The role focuses on drainage, levels, and highways/externals design within SAB-compliant processes. You’ll work with a collaborative, values-driven team at Stantec to shape sustainable communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery on civil engineering projects including resourcing, technical QA, and client management
• Coordinate design teams and participate in design team meetings and workshops
• Contribute to technical standards and drive innovation
• Perform project QA and ensure design packages meet requirements
• Develop civil design packages: surface and foul water drainage (SAB compliance, connection agreements), levels/cut-and-fill, highways and externals design

Key requirements

• MEng or BEng in civil engineering
• Chartered or Associate ICE, or working towards Chartership
• Significant experience in civil engineering design for building developments
• Strong SAB legislation understanding and track record managing SAB processes
• Self-motivated team player with good people skills
• Strong communication, analytical, technical design and drawing skills
• Experience using AutoCAD, InfoDrainage, Civil3D, Collaborative model platforms, NBS Chorus
