Overview
In this CFO role, you guide the family office’s financial destiny, balancing strategy, governance and hands-on delivery. You will lead the office and collaborate with external advisers to support the principal’s personal, investment and business interests. You’ll drive financial reporting, risk management and tax planning within a regulated art-market entity and related assets. The role combines strategic oversight with operational leadership in a discreet, UHNW environment. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the family’s capital and governance framework.

Responsibilities
- Act as trusted adviser to the family across personal, investment and business interests
- Lead the familys financial strategy with external advisers
- Oversee financial and management reporting across the family office and associated businesses
- Prepare financial reporting for Family Council and board meetings; follow up actions
- Manage annual audit and external relationships for governance
- Oversee treasury, cash flow, banking, funding and intercompany balances
- Oversee payments, controls and fraud risk management
- Oversee personal and business tax compliance with advisers
- Coordinate investment reporting and art collection oversight with advisers
- Oversee rental properties financials and cash flow
- Lead and develop the family office finance and art business teams
- Oversee HR, payroll and employment matters with advisers
- Manage external advisers and service providers and cost controls
- Ensure appropriate internal and external capability mix
- Oversee insurance, IT systems, cyber security with related strategy
- Governance, AML/regulatory compliance and company secretarial duties
- Maintain risk framework and deadlines; identify risks and opportunities
- Support management with strategic risk and governance improvements
Key requirements
- Qualified accountant
- Experience with UHNW individuals or family-run businesses
- Strong personal and corporate tax literacy; ability to direct advisers
- Experience leading and developing finance/operations teams
- Ability to operate strategically and hands-on in a dynamic environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication; discretion and judgment
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Desirable: art market experience; AML/MLRO exposure or regulatory AML environment
