UX Designer – Amazon Developer, Alexa Device Applications, Devices Experience Design

Overview

As a UX Designer on the DXD team, you shape the developer experience for Alexa device apps, focusing on test, submission, and certification workflows. You collaborate with product managers, engineers, and senior designers to translate requirements into intuitive experiences that empower developers. You iterate on developer consoles, dashboards, and testing interfaces, while supporting user research to uncover pain points. You contribute to design systems and work with engineering to ensure high‑quality implementations, balancing developer needs with business constraints and enabling AI automation tooling to scale the experience.

Responsibilities

• Design UX for developer tools and workflows related to Alexa app testing, submission, and certification
• Create design outputs including interaction, visual design, wireframes, and prototypes
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and senior designers to translate requirements into UX
• Support user research to understand pain points and developer workflows
• Design and iterate on developer consoles, dashboards, testing interfaces, and submission portals
• Contribute to scalable design systems and patterns across touchpoints
• Present concepts to team and stakeholders, incorporating feedback
• Work with engineering teams to ensure quality implementation
• Balance developer needs with business objectives and technical constraints
• Develop AI automation tools (e.g., Figma plugins with vibe coding)

Key requirements

• Experience delivering design solutions as UX or interaction designer
• Available online portfolio
• Experience acquiring user data and creating personas/journey maps
• Experience designing software applications/tools/web platforms
• Understanding of technical concepts and ability to communicate with engineers
• Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud)
