Junior Python Django Developer

Overview

In this role you join a fast-growing, innovative startup building an enterprise-grade Python-based platform for social data. You’ll work closely with founders and designers to shape features and architecture for a green-field product. You’ll explore and prototype technologies, evangelise new approaches, and help scale the development team. This is a hands-on role with strong learning and growth potential, centered in London with a competitive package. You’ll contribute to a data-centric product at the forefront of social data disruption.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select technologies to implement product features
• Collaborate with founders, UI/UX designers and other engineers on product development
• Support recruitment, training, retention and organization of development staff
• Operate in an agile, fast-paced environment and leverage open source solutions
• Prototype and evangelise new technologies to influence the architecture

Key requirements

• Some commercial Python and Django development experience
• Full-stack capability with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/AngularJS
• Exposure to NumPy, SciPy, pandas, IPython and other Python libraries for data handling
• Ability to source, clean and manipulate large data sets
• Experience with Google Maps tooling
