Overview
In this role you join a national law firm’s Employment team in Plymouth to handle a balanced mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work. You will manage a varied caseload, support HR advisory on disciplinary and redundancy issues, and contribute to corporate transactions through employment due diligence. You’ll draft contracts, policies, and settlement agreements while addressing data protection matters for clients across multiple sectors. Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of employment matters
- Handle employment tribunal litigation and advocacy preparation
- Advise employer clients on HR issues (disciplinary, grievance, redundancy)
- Draft contracts, policies, handbooks and settlement agreements
- Support corporate transactions with employment due diligence
- Advise on employment-related data protection matters
- Work with clients across sectors (retail, charity, developer, energy, infrastructure)
- Support business development, seminars and networking
- Maintain high professional standards and compliance
Key requirements
- 4+ years’ PQE in employment law
- A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree
- Strong technical and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence managing tribunal matters independently
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Motivation, organisation and a proactive mindset
