Overview
In this role, you will lead Tide’s regulatory risk and compliance for the UK, focusing on e-money and payments. You will advise on the scope of our e-money permission, embed regulatory requirements across the business, and manage interactions with the FCA. You’ll drive horizon scanning, governance, and training while collaborating with product, operations, and legal. This is a pivotal role for shaping compliant growth in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Responsibilities
- Advise on the scope of Tide’s e-money permission and lead compliance with EMR 2011 and PSD2 2017, including regulatory submissions
- Lead FCA correspondence, submissions, inspections, and thematic reviews
- Own horizon scanning and regulatory mapping for UK payments developments and assess actions
- Execute the Compliance Monitoring Plan and address findings across stakeholders
- Provide regulatory support to other risk areas (Financial Crime, Operational, Information Security, Conduct)
- Maintain and update compliance policies per UK/FCA regulations with refresh cycles
- Support Global Director of Compliance in regulatory engagements and governance
- Lead participation in the Regulatory Risk & Compliance working group and escalate issues
- Coordinate and deliver regulatory and risk training across the business (payments/e-money)
- Prepare MI for governance reporting and external regulatory submissions
- Track regulatory deadlines, submissions, and meetings with FCA/authorities
- Provide second-line challenge to first-line controls and oversee remediation of findings
- Support audits and compliance reviews and oversee remediation efforts
Key requirements
- Around seven years in Compliance, Regulatory Risk, or Risk Management in financial services
- Strong knowledge of EMR 2011 and PSD2 2017 and related reporting
- Direct experience with FCA interactions, submissions, and information requests
- Experience across risk areas (Financial Crime, Operational, Information Security, Conduct)
- Experience in oversight, KRIs, and advisory on new initiatives/products/services
- Background in Banking/FinTech/Payments or Regulatory Consultancy
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and advise stakeholders
- Proactive, ownership-driven problem solver with strong organizational skills
- Meticulous drafting, analytical, and risk assessment abilities
