Platform Application Specialist

Overview

In this Platform Application Specialist role, you will design, monitor, and scale mission-critical platform infrastructure across private and public clouds. You’ll collaborate with developers, researchers, and infrastructure teams to automate, improve CI/CD, and deliver self-service workflows that boost productivity and researcher experience. You’ll work across observability, scheduling, development tools, middleware, databases, and automation to drive scalable platforms. This is a hands-on, impact-oriented role with a clear opportunity to shape how teams work and deliver value at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, monitor, and scale platform infrastructure across private and public clouds
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and self-service workflows
• Improve developer and researcher experience by enhancing tooling and automation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support observability, scheduling, middleware, and databases
• Automate infrastructure management and configuration using standard tools
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance of containerized environments and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Build and maintain tooling for effective DevOps practices and platform reliability

Key requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 4+ years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering
• Strong Python and Git development experience
• Linux, Bash, containerization proficiency
• Infrastructure automation/configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet)
• Kubernetes experience
• CI/CD pipeline development (GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Excellent communication and user-focused mindset
