Senior Lead Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Technical Lead Engineer at Hitachi Energy in Stone, you will drive the engineering, testing and commissioning of Substation Automation projects within the HUB Europe region. You will act as design authority across disciplines, coordinating technical activities through the project cycle and shaping customer solutions. You’ll work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable automation systems while maintaining quality, safety and cost targets. This role offers impact on large-scale HV substations and the digitalization of energy networks. You will help advance the Fourth Industrial Revolution with innovative, sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead and design authority for engineering deliverables across disciplines
• Coordinate all technical activities during the project cycle, including testing and commissioning
• Collaborate with customers to shape solutions and capture feedback for improvements
• Share knowledge across teams and regions within HUB Europe
• Prepare base design of substation automation, control and protection; verify implementation in detailed design
• Engage in detailed design engineering, testing or commissioning as needed
• Support Project Manager with costings, estimations, change claims, and risk assessments
• Provide technical details and deliverables for sales proposals

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
• Proven experience in substation automation projects
• Strong English communication skills
• Principal knowledge in SCADA, protection, communication protocols and networks
