Delivery Manager – Public Sector

Overview

As a Delivery Manager in PA’s Major Programme Services, you steer cross-functional teams to deliver complex UK projects for public sector and defence clients. You blend agile delivery with tailored methodologies to achieve outcomes, using metrics to drive throughput and client visibility. You will train and guide teams, foster collaboration with stakeholders, and uphold high quality and delivery excellence. This role offers hands-on problem solving, continuous improvement, and growth through on-the-job learning across challenging domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of products and projects using appropriate methodologies with iterative learning and knowledge sharing
• Form and guide high-performing cross-functional teams and adapt approaches to client challenges
• Ensure quality and attention to detail across work outputs
• Lead stakeholder engagement and facilitate collaboration among all participants
• Use metrics to improve team throughput and inform clients on delivery progress
• Develop and refine delivery expertise through on-the-job learning and formal qualifications

Key requirements

• At least 2 years in agile delivery consulting or related roles
• Experience with public sector clients or defence
• Experience estimating, scoping, and delivering products/services using various delivery techniques
• Experience in technical/engineering projects using Agile methods
• Desirable: certification in project management or project controls (PMQ, Prince2)
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present to clients and stakeholders
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross-level collaboration
