Health, Safety and Environment Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead HSE at a large R&D facility within a global organisation, ensuring compliance with UK law and the company’s global safety strategy. You will be the main HSE contact, oversee all mechanical and hard facilities, and drive incident reporting and investigations. You will engage regulators, contractors and other stakeholders to maintain high safety standards. The position offers the chance to shape HSE practices at scale and contribute to the company’s safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Ensure facility compliance with UK legislation and global HSE strategy
• Act as the key HSE contact for all mechanical equipment and hard facilities
• Audit HSE performance, report and investigate incidents and near misses
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and enforcement agencies

Key requirements

• Proven experience in a similar manufacturing/chemical/pharmaceutical environment
• NEBOSH or equivalent and IOSH membership (ideally Diploma level)
• Excellent communication with clients, staff, and contractors
• Experience with ISO management systems
• IEMA certificate or environmental qualification is desirable
