Overview

As Engagement Consultant at WSP UK, you will drive stakeholder engagement, public consultation and clear communications for major infrastructure and development projects. You’ll work with a collaborative team to gather community input, translate complex information into plain-English content, and support informed decision-making. The role combines engaging communities with delivering on-time, budget-conscious engagement activities across projects. Responsibilities

  • Create clear, accessible communications for communities and stakeholders
  • Support public consultations, stakeholder engagement programmes and community relations initiatives
  • Coordinate engagement activities (events, exhibitions, workshops, webinars, surveys)
  • Analyse consultation feedback and present findings with recommendations
  • Develop engagement materials (websites, virtual platforms, brochures, fact sheets, posters, public-facing maps)
  • Provide communications and engagement support to projects across the UK and internationally
  • Work with project teams to deliver engagement activities on time and within budget
  • Contribute to development of engagement strategies, plans and reporting

Key requirements

  • Degree-qualified, or equivalent experience in communications, engagement, or related field
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to translate complex information into plain-English content
  • Experience producing materials (newsletters, websites, fact sheets, brochures, stakeholder updates)
  • Excellent organisational skills with multi-priority management
  • Collaborative approach; able to work independently and in a team
  • Demonstrable experience in communications, engagement or stakeholder management
